Opening Saturday, December 2, 5–8 PM
Hours: Sat–Sun, 12–5 PM & by appointment
The night has come. Our palms are sweaty and our hearts are racing. We're finally ready to take things to the next level and tell the world that we're Going Steady. Celebrating Carnation Contemporary's fifth season of programming, this exhibition highlights the work of ten new member artists and showcases Carnation's commitment to critical engagement and diverse perspectives.
Expanding on our previous group show themes, Going Steady asks: How can we approach artwork and artmaking with the same care and vulnerability that we bring to our most cherished interpersonal relationships? Join us in discovering what meaningful conversations arise when artists from diverse backgrounds with varied forms of expression come together under one roof.
Carnation Contemporary was founded in 2018 by a collective of Portland-based artists who champion critical and contemporary artwork. Carnation supports emerging and mid-career artists from the Pacific Northwest and is committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse community of member artists.
Artist bios for all new and current members can be found on our website.
